Learn how to precisely capture the luminous surface, crater structures, and lunar atmospheres—whether as a close-up or as part of an atmospheric landscape composition. This workshop takes you to carefully selected locations in Switzerland with clear visibility and an ideal view of the lunar horizon.

Learn how to use the moon's phases, orbit, and brightness to create your own images. Discover when and where to find the best conditions for exceptional moon shots.

From craters to mares, discover how to achieve razor-sharp images of the moon with a telephoto lens, correct focus, and optimal exposure.

Create compositions in which the moon strikes a natural balance with mountains, lakes, or silhouettes—for atmospheric yet technically precise images.

A maximum of 4 participants allows you to receive personal support, targeted technical assistance and individual feedback.

  • Moon photography from A to Z: techniques, planning and timing

  • Equipment & Settings: Focal length, ISO, exposure time and focus

  • Photographing during different moon phases – from crescent to supermoon

  • Precise focus and exposure in bright moonlight

  • Moon over landscape and architecture: composition, perspective, foreground design

  • Avoiding typical errors (overexposure, camera shake, color casts)

  • RAW development & post-processing: Making fine details visible

  • Feedback session & image review – targeted learning through experience

  • December 4, 2025, Valais, Valais Castle at sunset with a rising full moon - The exact location will be announced in the workshop group chat after registration.
  • July 17, 2026, GraubĂĽnden, GraubĂĽnden Castle at dusk with a setting crescent moon - The exact location will be announced in the workshop group chat after registration.
  • August 14, 2026, GraubĂĽnden, GraubĂĽnden Castle at sunset with a setting crescent moon - The exact location will be announced after registration in the workshop group chat.
  • New locations and dates are currently being planned

Time: Approx. 3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. , depending on location, season, moonrise, and ideal lighting conditions.

📍 Venue

Location: Switzerland
The exact locations are chosen depending on the weather – in places with a clear view of the moonrise and a clear horizon line for optimal photo opportunities.

👥 Number of participants & requirements

  • Max. 4 participants for personal coaching

  • For beginners and advanced photographers of the moon and landscape

  • Camera with manual mode and telephoto lens (at least 200 mm recommended, longer focal lengths are advantageous)

  • Basic knowledge of aperture, exposure time and ISO is helpful
